Bulgaria has joined for a second time to the UN-sponsored initiative Fight Hunger designed to fight starvation globally. A walk-on-foot charity event is being organised by the UN World Food Program (WFP) and its partner TNT this Sunday to take place in the outskirts of Vitosha Mountain, lining up more than 90 countries around the world. The WFP and TNT, global provider of express, logistics and mail services, are teaming up with a glittering array of well-known figures for a second consecutive year. They are set to show how one collective footstep can transform the lives of the world's poorest children. The first "Walk the World" event held last year in 72 countries raised money enough to fund meals for over 30,000 school children in the developing world. This year the global advocacy and fund raising event aims to raise over EUR 2 M for WFP's global school feeding programme, moving one step closer to permanently eradicating child hunger.
