The Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov will participate in what is aimed to become the world's longest chain-dance (horo).
Sofia citizens started flocking on Monday afternoon to join the unique event, taking place at St. Alexander Nevsky Square. Over 5,000 people have registered so far in the participants' lists in front of the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.
Over 18,000 professional Bulgarian dancers will "heat up" the crowd.
To be approved as record the participants should dance at least seven minutes in a uniform step and holding each other's hands, which is the essence of the traditional dance.
The folklore holiday will end with a concert, including performances of Ilia Lukov - the initiator of the event, Ivo Papzov, the Mystery of Bulgarian Voices and many others.
