Greek business has invested some USD 20.1 M in Bulgaria in the first trimester of 2005 to occupy the place of second largest investing country here. According to the InvestBulgaria Agency, the overall directly invested Greek capital in Bulgaria for the period of January 1992-March 2005 is estimated at USD 1,054.6 B making Greece the second biggest foreign investor in its northern neighbour. The top of the list of foreign investors in Bulgaria is occupied by Austria with overall direct investments of USD 1.829 B as a result of the purchase of the Bulgarian telecommunications company BTC. The Netherlands comes third with direct investments of EUR 939.5 M in the period of January 1992-March 2005.
