Hollywood Stars Film Thriller in Downtown Sofia Hollywood stars Timothy Spall and Elika Portnoy took part in the filming of the thriller "Sofia" Tuesday in the very heart of Bulgaria's capital.
The filming took place in the park in front of the National "Ivan Vazov" Theater.
The main female part is played by Bulgarian-born actress, Elena Trifonova, better known in the US as Elika Portnoy. She made her break in Hollywood with the movies "Immigration Tango," "Tricks of a Woman," and "A Close Shave," for which she also wrote the screenplay. In addition to acting and writing, Portnoy is also a producer and founder of the company Mutressa Movies.
British native, Timothy Spall, has taken part in a number of famous motion pictures - "Harry Potter," "Crusoe," "Secrets and Lies," "Shooting the Past," "Vanilla Sky," "Rock Star," "The Last Samuray," Pierrepoint," and "Lemony Snicket's – a Series of Unfortunate Events," among others.
Spall plays a leading role in the movie directed by Isaac Florentine and produced by Nu Image.
Hollywood mega-stars, Christian Slater and Donald Sutherland, also have parts in the thriller.
